The Wisdom of Life

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word made up of two parts,

ayu refers to „life“ and veda to „wisdom“.

Veda is derived from „vid“ which literally means „know“.

Used by doctors for more than 5,000 years, Ayurveda is known as one of the world’s oldest systems for preventive medicine and healing. It brings balance and harmony to the entire person. It aligns the relationship between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual being. Its philosophy is based on five elements: fire, earth, air, water and ether. These five elements combine different forms called doshas, which refers to „that which transforms“. Every dosha, namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha has a different quality. We are all a combination of each dosha. However, we were born with different dosha values which can fluctuate over time depending on your lifestyle, diet, environment and other factors.

As every person has a dominant dosha, it is useful to know what your doshas are comprised of. Your doshas can become unbalanced if you experience an imbalance in your mental or psychological health, a sudden change in life conditions, or if you begin a diet. Ayurveda can help you to balance your doshas which not only relieves your symptoms but also can act on the root cause of your aliment in order to heal it. Balancing your doshas also has the potential to heal the source of chronic disease. All in all, it is a cost effective treatment with no side effects and becomes easy to adapt into your daily lifestyle.
